The enigmatic psychill producer Rain, aka
Phutureprimitive has just released his remix of the classic song "Teardrop" by Massive Attack. This past spring, Phutureprimitive opened for
Shpongle, and I had the pleasure of seeing him live, first at
Toad's Place in Hartford, CT and then again at the
House of Blues in Boston, MA, and boy did he deliver. This song, as well as his remix of "
Mad World" by Gary Jules accentuated the set, which focused mainly on tracks from his most recent album
Kinetik. His first album
Sub Conscious was released in 2004, and was followed by his three-track
Luminous EP in 2010.

After recent performances at
Bella Terra Festival in Stephentown, NY and
Rootwire Festival in Logan, OH, Phutureprimitive will be heading back on tour with Shpongle starting at the
Canopy Club in Urbana, IL on September 21st, and finishing up with a Halloween show at
Terminal West in Atlanta, GA.
