Song Of The Day: Skytree - Quartz Resonance (Space Jesus Remix)

Philadelphia-based producer Space Jesus (aka Jasha Tull) has just released a 5-track Remix EP, featuring remixes of original tracks by Gotye, Major LazerSkytreePistol and Freddy Todd & Black Mic, and includes collaborations with fellow producers D.V.S.* and F.L.O.T.E.. Space Jesus' style crosses so many genres between each of his original tracks and numerous remixes, it can be hard to keep up. From Sky-Hop to Psy-Trap, Fidget-Hop to Kumbiathon, it can be difficult to pin down this dynamic artist.

2012 has been a busy year for SPace Jesus in terms of both production and performance, having released many original tracks and remixes, and performed at countless events alongside such artists as Alex Grey, Zeds Dead Ott. and BassNectar. Space Jesus will be finishing up 2012 with two final performances, first at the Disco Biscuits' After-Party on Thursday, December 27th alongside Ott.Phutureprimitive, and Alpha Data at B.B. Kings in New York, NY and with a performance at Lights All Night Festival in Dallas, TX on Saturday, December 29th. Be sure to check him out at either of these, and wish him a Happy Belated Birthday!

November - December 2012 Upcoming EDM Events for NYC

Oktoberfest may have to an end, but the real party is just around the corner. Even after such an impressive October lineup of shows, NYC is really getting ready to throw down between now and the biggest party of all, New Years Eve 2012! This city is no stranger to a good time, but the sheer number of incredible bands, DJs, producers and artists descending on us over such a short period of time could only mean the End of Days.

From the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival to Boys Noize, The Magician to Minnesota, Dan Deacon to DJ Shadow, Paper Diamond to Pretty Lights, and Squarepusher to Sound Tribe Sector 9, I cannot remember the last time I saw a more exciting concert schedule for the beginning of Winter in NYC. So here is a comprehensive list of every great show you're going to want to attend in November and December 2012.*

Song Of The Day: Massive Attack - Teardrop (Phutureprimitive Remix)

The enigmatic psychill producer Rain, aka Phutureprimitive has just released his remix of the classic song "Teardrop" by Massive Attack. This past spring, Phutureprimitive opened for Shpongle, and I had the pleasure of seeing him live, first at Toad's Place in Hartford, CT and then again at the House of Blues in Boston, MA, and boy did he deliver. This song, as well as his remix of "Mad World" by Gary Jules accentuated the set, which focused mainly on tracks from his most recent album Kinetik. His first album Sub Conscious was released in 2004, and was followed by his three-track Luminous EP in 2010.

Massive Attack - "Teardrop" (Phutureprimitive Remix)

After recent performances at Bella Terra Festival in Stephentown, NY and Rootwire Festival in Logan, OH, Phutureprimitive will be heading back on tour with Shpongle starting at the Canopy Club in Urbana, IL on September 21st, and finishing up with a Halloween show at Terminal West in Atlanta, GA.
